Here's an interesting story from The (Tinley Park) Southtown Star in Chicago. The article sheds new light on a tragic 1909 fire in a water-intake crib located one mile off the shores of Lake Michigan. That fire, long shrouded in mystery, killed more than 50 men who were working to build a tunnel under the lake.
