"Identifying and Installing Medium Voltage Circuits"
Sunday, June 6
8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Instructor: James G. Stallcup, President, Grayboy Electric
Register now.
Designing and installing medium-voltage electrical systems is an increasingly more complicated endeavor that is testing the talents and determination of all in the electrical industry. However, due to technological advances that are creating safer, more energy efficient, and more economical electrical equipment, (including switchgear, transformers, cables, terminators, and splices) distribution of electrical power in buildings continues to shift toward medium-voltage (5-15 kV).
Modern medium-voltage electrical systems are analyzed by wiring methods and equipment categories, so this seminar, while generic in nature, will show the general consideration within which specific decisions must be made about types of wiring and equipment. Throughout the presentation, there will be illustrated references of typical techniques, which satisfy specific codes, standards, and engineering concepts, as well as maintenance procedures. Also, because OSHA has made the NEC its standard for electrical work, an emphasis will be placed on the NEC rules that must be fully and carefully observed for all medium-voltage installations.
Anyone who has the responsibility of designing, installing, maintaining and inspecting medium-voltage electrical systems should attend this seminar including: electrical engineers, plant engineers, contractors, electricians, maintenance personnel, and inspectors
