The May 2011 NFPA Journal online exclusive is titled "Commissioning Defined - NFPA 3: What it does, who it's for, and how it can make life easier for building owners, contractors, designers, and AHJ's."
One of the documents up for discussion at the Association Technical Meeting, June 14-15 in Boston, is NFPA 3, Recommended Practice for Commissioning and Integrated Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems. In this month's online exclusive, Matt Klaus, senior fire protection engineer at NFPA and staff liaison for the document, answers questions about the code's development and application. Education session: NFPA 3 Commissioning: What to Expect? will take place on Monday, June 13, 2:45-3:45 p.m. A second education session: Commissioning and Integrated Testing of Fire/Life Safety Systems - An AHJ Perspective will be held Tuesday, June 14, 8-9 a.m. And finally, the NFPA 3: Recommended Practice on Commissioning and Integrated Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems post-conference seminar will be on Thursday, June 16, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
