    Election of officers, members of the Board, and members of the 2014 Nominating Committee will take place at the NFPA Annual Meeting on Monday, June 10 at the Arie Crown Theatre at the McCormick Place Convention Center, Chicago, IL. Read the Report of the Nominating Committee.

    Amendment of the NFPA Bylaws
    Proposed amendments to the NFPA Bylaws have been recommended by the NFPA Board of Directors and will be submitted for a vote of the NFPA Membership in accordance with Section 11.1 of the NFPA Bylaws. Review the proposed amended NFPA Bylaws. A copy may also be obtained by written request via U.S. Mail to Dennis J. Berry, Assistant Secretary, NFPA, 1 Batterymarch Park, Quincy, MA 02169-7471.

Action on NFPA 61, Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities

During today's NFPA Association Technical Meeting in Las Vegas, the following action has taken place on NFPA 61, Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities

  • 61-1 Motion to Accept Comment 61-4 failed.
  • 61-2 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-8 was not pursued.
  • 61-3 Motion to Accept an Identifiable Part of Comment 61-6 failed.
  • 61-4 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-19 failed.
  • 61-5 Motion to Accept Comment 61-8 was not pursued.
  • 61-6 Motion to Accept Comment 61-9 passed.
  • 61-7 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-20 was not pursued since it was a Related Motion to Motion 61-6.
  • 61-8 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-21 was not pursued since it was a Related Motion to Motion 61-9.
  • 61-9 Motion to Accept Comment 61-13 passed.
  • 61-10 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-23 passed.
  • 61-11 Motion to Accept Comment 61-14 was not pursued since it was a Related Motion to Motion 61-10.
  • 61-12 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-26 failed.
  • 61-13 Motion to Accept Comment 61-15 was not pursued since it was a Related Motion to Motion 61-12.
  • 61-14 Motion to Accept Comment 61-18 failed.
  • 61-15 Motion to Accept Proposal 61-39 was not pursued since it was a Related Motion to Motion 61-14.
  • Follow-up Motion to Return the document to the committee failed.

NFPA 61 was passed with 3 amending motions. NFPA 61 COMPLETED.
