Twenty thousand Leafs sold in less than a year? Bear hugs all around!
To quote from Engadget.com: “You win this round, hippies!”
Just a few short months after breaking the 10,000 mark, Nissan has officially sold 20,000 Leafs since the all-electric car went on sale in December of 2010. Of those, 9,000 were sold in the US, over 60% of which went to homes in California, the Organic Kale State (which would look great on a license plate).
At the Tokyo Motor Show today, Nissan announced that it expects to sell more than 10,000 Leafs in the US by the end of 2011, which at the current rate seems very accessible.
Here at EV Safety Training, we just want to know if that bear who was so excited about the Leafs ever got to thank the folks at Nissan.

What a very inspiring ad this is. It tells us about how greener the world could become with cars.

It's exciting to see the Nissan Leaf receive such a positive response. If we could only expand the electric grid in order to support a large number of EV drivers; that would be perfect.
