I came across this video that does a really good job of showing what firefighters do, and addresses some frequently asked questions, such as why does it take so many firefighters and trucks to put out a fire.

NFPA seeks public input on the proposed draft of NFPA 1091, Standard for Traffic Control Incident Management Professional Qualifications, 2015 Edition. Public input must be submitted by January 4, 2013.
