The NFPA Standards Council will soon be publishing a notice to solicit opinions on the need for several new proposed projects. The Council will be seeking information on resources available on the subject matter, those interested in participating, and input from other organizations that may be actively involved with the subject matter. More details will be available on Friday, April 2 in the April edition of Fire News.
Brief descriptions of the proposed projects are listed below. If you would like to comment on any of these projects, please send them to stds_admin@nfpa.org.
1. A recommended practice on minimum requirements for the organization and management of hazardous materials/WMD emergency response program.
2. A new technical committee and document on professional qualifications for emergency responders working on roadways.
3. A new project on powered air purifying respirators (PAPRs)
4. A new document on organization and deployment of fire investigation operations, code enforcement operations and public education operations to the public by career fire departments.
