Every summer, consumer fireworks cause serious injuries, start many fires, and sadly can take the life of innocent folks who did not understand how dangerous these devices are. Consumer fireworks are those sold in a retail shop to anyone with the cash. The buyer can hold his/her own private pyrotechnic display, and often it becomes a neighboorhood or family event. Fire up the grill, break out some brew, and fire off the display.Independence Day, July 4th ,in particular is one holiday that is celebrated with numerous consumer fireworks displays.
According to NFPA research, there are far more U.S. fires reported on a typical Independence Day than on any other day, and fireworks account for more than half of those fires, more than any other cause of fires. In 2008, fireworks caused an estimated 22,500 reported fires, including 1,400 structure fires, 500 vehicle fires, and 20,600 outside and other fires. These fires resulted in an estimated $42 million in direct property damage
NFPA has prepared a video to illustrate the dangers of consumer fireworks and you can view it by clicking here: NFPA Fireworks Video
Share this video, post it on your department/local/association web page. A safe fireworks display is one produced by trained professionals with fire department review/supervision.

This is a must see video for those people who do not think consumer fireworks can be dangerous. Buying fireworks online can be fun and easy as well as safe if people would only follow the instructions on the device label. www.fireworksstoreonline.com
