Jeff LaFlam, Fire Marshal for the Northshore (WA) Fire Department, spoke about the process of adopting a residential fire sprinkler ordinance, as was accomplished in Kenmore, WA. Speaking at NFPA's Home Fire Sprinkler Summit in Chicago earlier this week, Jeff outlined the 5 steps he says are essential for success, including education of key stakeholders and the public as well as buy-in from fire service leaders.
