The discussions at NFPA's EuroCon 2012 in Amsterdam were intriguing; concerns integrating local codes with NFPA codes are at the top of the list. The networking events stimulated discussion on the equivalency concept, petrochem industry concerns, examinations of fire case studies, and much more.
The final "Ask the Expert" session was a perfect ending to a stimulating conference. The bottom line is that the international attendees are thirsting for NFPA code information. The attendees got their answers to questions on NFPA 13, 20 and 25 ranging from water flow, rack storage protection, environmental concerns, NFPA 4 which addresses integrated testing, and fire protection ratings for fire doors.
The NFPA certificate programs were of great interest. Confirmation of knowledge is valued..the attendees were pleased to hear of the existing eight programs and the many more to come. The NFPA experts encouraged participation in the code-making process. In turn, attendees encouraged NFPA to expand training events even further throughout the world.
